LITERACY  PRO

During our last Senior assembly, two students from Room 12 received their 'Silver' Literacy Pro certificates.
It was a proud moment when the certificates arrived in our classroom for Finn and Logan to receive them.

WOW!!!! We are all very proud of Finn and Logan for reading so many words and reaching the word count to receive their 'SILVER' certificates.

WELL DONE TO YOU BOTH!!!!

Finn has read  over 1 500 000 words and Logan has read over 1 300 000 words.

FANTASTIC EFFORT....

JUST    DANCE    FITNESS

Room 12 don't get disappointed if it is raining and we can't go outside for fitness......
OH NO.....because it means.....it's time for 'JUST DANCE'.

We tune into different songs and dance away following the dance instructions given on the interactive white board from the Just Dance website.

Many tunes are selected like Y.M.C.A.,Continental Drift, Timber and What the Fox say.

We dance independently, in pairs and sometimes in groups of four.

It is a fun way to get fitness on the rainy mornings and WE LOVE IT!!!!!

Wednesday 10 May 2017

Each morning after recess, we sit on the mat and do our Numeracy warm-ups. It is fast and fun. We use our whiteboards to write answers down and then show the teacher. Miss Anderson is from Edith Cowan University and we love doing warm-up with her.
We are learning how to do long division.

On Thursdays we are in the Computer Lab. We all learn to type for 15 minutes, in the beginning of our lesson. Then we do our research on our project. The Tropical Rain forest is our Term 2 project.

Here are some comments from the students about their project;
Finn: I'm finding our project quite challenging at the moment.
Michael: It is hard to do.

Holly: It is challenging, but it is also fun to do a project on Rain forest animals.
Sharon:The project is OK but looking for the right website is challenging.

We strolled around the school looking at our posters.
During our Art lessons, we created posters for Harmony Day. It was great fun. After we all finished the posters, they were hung around the school to display unity of the many cultures within Wattle Grove Primary. We were all very proud of our posters.
The posters gave an image that all the students were holding hands.
Room 12 received the Tidy Bags award during the assembly.
During our Assembly, the Literacy Pro awards  were announced.
Kane and Sharon received their Blue Literacy Pro certificates.

Shiam received his Red Literacy Pro certificate.

Our assembly award winners were Shiam, Kane and Sharon.

More of our class posters.
Mrs Grainger was looking at our class posters.

We were all proud of the work.

Don't they look great!

HARMONY  DAY

Room 12 celebrated Harmony Day with a dress up and parade. The class dressed in 'cultural dress' and the colours were amazing. Room 12 also designed a flag from a country of choice. As you can see, the students were waving their flags so proudly.
